When you buy a house, brand new or second hand, it is important that you know first hand the status of the structure, equipment and surroundings, even though an inspection company would conduct the final evaluation. That’s why it’s important to put on a list of the important things that you need to check on so that you will have a wise decision in buying. Here’s a suggestion.
First to check is the base or the foundation of the house. Try to check if the walls and floors if there are signs of water leakage problems.
Second is to check for pests. Hire for pests exterminator to inspect the house to prevent future problems. Try to make sure that termites, bugs or rats are terminated.
Third is to check for the attic. Try to check the attic if it’s adequately insulated and ventilated. To make sure that you won’t have problems with the house temperature with the changes in weather.
Fourth is try to check the electrical and the standard house current. Make sure that the number of circuits, sufficient outlets and circuit breakers and condition of wiring.
Fifth is to check the plumbing. Try to check if there is good water pressure throughout house. Make sure that the pipe joints clean and rust-free.
Sixth is to check the doors and windows. If they are no damages and easy to open and close.
Seventh is to check the roof. Try to check if the gutters and downspouts are in good condition.
Lastly is the garage. Try to check if the doors or opener are in good working order. Also try to check if there is adequate electrical and heating access.
